New York’s daily-number games share the standard menu of play types:

• Straight — match the drawn digits in exact order — the top payout.
• Box — win on any arrangement of your digits — a lower payout with better odds.
• Straight/Box — split one stake across a straight and a box on the same number.
• Combo — covers every straight arrangement of your digits at once.
• Front / Back Pair — match just the first or last digits, in order, instead of the whole number.

Because every result is equally likely, the straight odds for each game are fixed:

• Numbers (Pick 3) — 1 in 1,000 straight.
• Win 4 (Pick 4) — 1 in 10,000 straight.

Box plays have better odds but smaller payouts. Prize amounts vary by play type, wager size, and state, and can change over time — check the New York Lottery for current New York payout tables. Prizes up to $600 can be cashed at many New York Lottery retailers. Larger prizes are claimed at a New York Lottery Customer Service Center or by mail.
