Overview

Tri-State runs Pick 3 (Pick 3) and Pick 4 (Pick 4). Each is a daily-number game — you pick the digits and the lottery draws the same number of digits, each from 0–9. Tap a game to open its full results history and pattern analytics on DueDigits.

National & multi-state games

Beyond its daily-number games, Tri-State also sells Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto America, Millionaire for Life and Tri-State Megabucks. Tap a game for live results, jackpot history, hot & cold numbers, and Smart Picks.

Fantasy 5 & Cash 5 games

Tri-State also runs Gimme 5 — “5-number matrix” game where you pick 5 distinct numbers from a single pool (no separate bonus ball). Tap a game for live results, hot & cold numbers, overdue numbers, pair frequency, and smart picks.

DueDigits tracks Tri-State’s daily-number games, its Gimme 5 and the national jackpot games shown above. Tri-State also runs other draw and instant games — for example in-state jackpot, add-on, keno, fast-play, and scratch-off games — that DueDigits doesn’t currently track. For the state’s full game lineup, see the Maine Lottery.

Drawing Schedule

All times are U.S. Central. Sales usually close shortly before each draw — confirm exact cutoffs with the Maine Lottery.

  • Pick 3 — 2× daily: Midday (12:10 CT) · Evening (17:50 CT)
  • Pick 4 — 2× daily: Midday (12:10 CT) · Evening (17:50 CT)

How to Play

Tri-State’s daily-number games share the standard menu of play types:

  • Straight — match the drawn digits in exact order — the top payout.
  • Box — win on any arrangement of your digits — a lower payout with better odds.
  • Straight/Box — split one stake across a straight and a box on the same number.
  • Combo — covers every straight arrangement of your digits at once.
  • Front / Back Pair — match just the first or last digits, in order, instead of the whole number.

Not every play type is offered on every game, and add-ons can change, so confirm the current menu with the Maine Lottery. For the full breakdown of how each bet pays, see Box vs. Straight Payouts.

Prizes & Odds

Because every result is equally likely, the straight odds are fixed. Where Tri-State publishes a fixed prize chart, here’s what a $1 play pays on the base game — a straight (exact order), then each box, priced by how many distinct arrangements your digits have (a “6-way” box has more arrangements than a “3-way,” so it pays less):

Pick 3 (Pick 3)1 in 1,000 straight

Straight $500 · Box $166 (3-way) · $84 (6-way)

Pick 4 (Pick 4)1 in 10,000 straight

Straight $5,000 · Box $1,250 (4-way) · $834 (6-way) · $416 (12-way) · $208 (24-way)

Payouts shown are for a $1 wager on the base game; add-ons and multipliers (where Tri-State offers them) pay more, and prize charts can change — confirm current amounts with the Maine Lottery. Box plays have better odds but smaller payouts, and no past result ever changes a future draw; see Lottery Odds Explained and Box vs. Straight Payouts for the full math.

Claiming Tri-State Lottery Prizes

Smaller prizes can be cashed at licensed Maine Lottery retailers; larger prizes are claimed at the Maine Lottery / Tri-State claim office or by mail.

Deadline: You have one year from the drawing date to claim a Tri-State draw-game prize. Check the deadline printed on your ticket, since an expired ticket can’t be redeemed.

Taxes: Yes. Maine withholds 7.15% state tax and 24% federal tax on qualifying prizes. This isn’t tax advice; consult a professional.

Claim locations, deadlines, and tax details can change — always confirm the current process with the Maine Lottery. This is general information, not legal or tax advice.

Tri-State Lottery Winner Privacy & Public Records

In many states, a lottery winner’s name and city or county become public record once a prize is claimed, and the lottery may use them in publicity. Some states let winners remain anonymous, or claim through a trust or legal entity to keep their name private.

Maine treats winners’ identities as public record, but winners can claim through an LLC or trust so the entity’s name — not the individual’s — is what’s disclosed.

Winner-privacy laws change; confirm the current policy with the Maine Lottery before you claim a large prize.
