Texas’s daily-number games share the standard menu of play types:

• Straight — match the drawn digits in exact order — the top payout.
• Box — win on any arrangement of your digits — a lower payout with better odds.
• Straight/Box — split one stake across a straight and a box on the same number.
• Combo — covers every straight arrangement of your digits at once.
• Front / Back Pair — match just the first or last digits, in order, instead of the whole number.

Texas also offers add-on features — Sum It Up!, FIREBALL — that layer a bonus number or extra wager on top of your play for an added cost.

Because every result is equally likely, the straight odds for each game are fixed:

• Pick 3 (Pick 3) — 1 in 1,000 straight.
• Daily 4 (Pick 4) — 1 in 10,000 straight.

Box plays have better odds but smaller payouts. Prize amounts vary by play type, wager size, and state, and can change over time — check the Texas Lottery for current Texas payout tables. Prizes up to $599 can be cashed at any Texas Lottery retailer. Larger prizes are claimed at a Texas Lottery claim center or by mail.

Deadline: You have 180 days from the drawing date to claim a Texas draw-game prize. Check the deadline printed on your ticket, since an expired ticket can’t be redeemed.

Taxes: Texas has no state income tax, so the state doesn’t tax lottery winnings — but federal tax still applies (24% withheld on prizes over $5,000). This isn’t tax advice; consult a professional.
